She married George Carr by 1642, based on the birth of their first child.Ĭhildren (all born at Salisbury, Massachusetts): She is most likely the daughter of Thomas Dexter and Mary Harper Fuller, and baptized 31 August 1623 in Great Bowden, Leicestershire, England. Īll combined, this means that Elizabeth who married George Carr was NOT the daughter of Thomas Oliver and Anne Squire. She married Thomas Woolful in 1625 and remained in England. But Anderson writes: "There does not seem to be any place for Elizabeth in the family of Thomas Oliver, but she could well be a daughter of Thomas Dexter, whose daughter Mary married first John Friend and then James Oliver." Ī subsequent article published in 2003 (post Anderson's Great Migration work) found the baptism and marriage records of Elizabeth Oliver, daughter of Thomas Oliver. In a deposition she made in 1682, she refers to "my Brother and Sister Oliver" from which some researchers have concluded that she was sister to James Oliver and therefore daughter of his father Thomas Oliver. Many highly derivative and unreliable online sources claim that she was Elizabeth Oliver was born possibly 12 April 1624, possibly in Boston, Massachusetts or in Bristol, Gloucester, England
